Sledding!

Matt got a really neat new sled from his Nanny and Grampy for Christmas! It is a great little seat, and he sat in it in Nanny and Grampy's kitchen on Sunday mornings many times (it was an early Christmas present I guess). This was his first ride outside in the snow and he wasn't too sure what to make of it. He didn't complain, but he wasn't all smiles either. By the end, we got a few little smiles out of him so we'll give it another try next time it snows!

New Favorite Spot

Matt hangs out on our bed while I get dressed each morning. He has a basket of toys he only gets to play with while on the bed. He's usually very enterained by these toys since he only sees them for 10 minutes a day. Yes, only 10 minutes! You learn to be very quick with a six month old around!

My pants are too tight!

Even though Matt was only five and a half months old when we took this picture, and these pants are six to nine month pants, they were way too tight (and also way too long). Like a bad mom, I just unbuttoned them and let him wear them around like that. He certainly didn't notice!

Tubby Time

Matt didn't even notice when we put this bucket on his head. He kept right on playing with his bath toys while we took twenty pictures of him in it! He loves his bath ducky, I think because the duck's beak fits perfectly in his mouth. He just recently started splashing the water with his hands. He'll smack it over and over, sending water everywhere. And once in awhile, he'll get himself with a big splash right in the face!

Another hat...but this one is fun!

Matt was either in a really good mood for no apparent reason or he really loved having his daddy's had on his head! I think it was the latter!

Poor Baby!

Matt had quite an eventful trip to the doctor last week. His cough was pretty bad and he had started coughing in his sleep so we brought him in for a check on Wednesday. The doctor said he could hear quite a bit of congestion in his chest; he actually said that Matt sounded "very junkie." So we had to give him a nebulizer treatment of albuteral to see if that would help clear up some of the congestion. He wasn't too keen on having a mask over his face for 15 minutes but he was actually quite good about it. Thankfully Daddy was there to help hold down his arms when he got restless (and to take some pictures)! Then while we waited for the doctor again, Matt had a grand old time playing with the paper that lines the table. Considering we were at the doctor's office for an hour and a half, he was a very good boy! Turns out he has bronchiolitis, which is a virus, and there's not much that can be done for it. We raised his crib mattress, we've been using a humidifier, and we take him in the bathroom and let the shower run for some hot steam once in a while. He's seems to be getting better and at least he's not coughing in his sleep anymore! I have a cold as well that just doesn't want to go away, but at least we are sick together!

Another hat!

Matt is ready for more snow with his new hat from Auntie Katie! However, he's very sick of us trying hats on him!

Matt's (two!) girlfriends

What a lucky guy! Matt likes the older ladies, just like his daddy! His friend Elizabeth is exactly two months older and his friend Amelia is a month-and-a-half older. Matt and Lizzy hung out on a Friday night recently and they were very good at sharing toys! Matt and Amelia meet once a week, usually to go shopping. They sure do love the new mall! He can't decide which one he's going to marry so for now he's going to keep chilling with both!

Chubby Bubba

Ok, you've seen lots of pictures of Matt, but have you seen his baby fat!?!? He has the most adorable little naked body! There are rolls not only on his thighs, but also on his arms! And the buddah belly is by far the best part!

Snow!!!

I was so excited to see snow coming down on Tuesday, partly because I love snow, but more importantly, because it was Matt's first snowfall! We stood at the back door looking out at the snow for a good 10 minutes and he was just enthralled! Then we bundled up into our new snowsuit and went outside. As you can see by his face, he loved it! The best was how he flinched and blinked when a big flake hit his face!

More Jumping!

One jumping apparatus was not enough. Since our house is so tiny, we thought we'd cram it with as much baby stuff as possible! Actually, we received this jumparoo as a shower gift and thought about opening it for quite some time. It's pretty big and we are running out of spots for baby contraptions. But then two of our best friends, Elizabeth and Amelia, told us how much they loved their rainforest jumparoo, so we thought we'd give it a shot. And boy are we glad we did! Matt absolutely loves it and goes it in every night while we eat dinner!

Like my new hat?

It's getting chilly out there! Actually, it's down right cold! We're trying to decide if we are going to keep this hat for Matt. I especially like how it looks on him with the mittens on top of his head. Maybe we'll just have him wear it like that all winter!

Jump!

Matt loves his newest present from Nanny and Grampy! He jumps like crazy, and then if we lift it up, he can swing away too! We're hoping it will tucker him out enough that he'll start napping more than 40 minutes!

Spoons!

Matt watches us very closely when we eat dinner so we thought we'd let him try out a spoon for himself. He certainly did not want to use it for any type of eating. He was much more interested in banging. The best part was how much he scared himself the first few times! I think we need to get him some drum sticks!

Me and My Doggie

In the past couple of weeks, Matt has just begun to notice Wheaton. He watches her whenever she's walking by and he's even reached out to touch her a few times. Wheaton is very good about letting Matt pat her, a.k.a. grab her fur! She loves to lick Matt's hands and she is very good about obeying the no face licking rule!

I love my monkey!

Usually Matt likes to chew on his monkey during our walks in the stroller. This time, he just wanted to give him a hug!

Teeth!

Matthew loves to chew on anything, especially fingers. So when he chomped down on mine Sunday morning I was so excited to feel two little teeth just starting to poke through! Daddy acutally felt them first, on Saturday night, so he must have cut them at some point Saturday. We thought he was extra drooly Saturday morning, and now we know why!

You Talking To Me?

Matthew's favorite new spot to hang out is in his exersaucer. He especially loves to chew on the frog! He's getting so tall we need to move it up to the next level soon!

Mmmm, Yummy

Matthew wasn't too keen on his rice cereal when he started two weeks ago. But now that we've added sweet potatoes, it's a whole new ballgame! He just can't get enough!

Happy Halloween

Matthew's first Halloween - how exciting! I wouldn't say he loved his costume; we certainly have a few shots of him screaming in it! However, he did love seeing Samantha and Alex in their costumes - matching skunks!
