We all had a wondeful time in Mexico and already miss the gorgeous weather, lush surroundings, beautiful beach, cool pools, and yummy drinks! Matt was a great little traveller and a good sport about everything we did. He quite enjoyed his first trip to the Carribean!
Matt loved swimming in the pools! The big pool by the beach had a great ledge around the whole thing with about six inches of water so Matt could sit there, play with his toys, and stay cool. He also spent lots of time in his float, which held all his toys right in front of him. The other two pools had small baby pools and the adults enjoyed these, maybe even more than Matt did, because the water was so warm!
Matt took his first dip in the Carribean Sea on our second day there. He wasn't too keen on the waves that broke right in front of him and splashed him in the face. He was much happier to sit back and watch the water lap at my feet. We didn't swim in the ocean as much because it required quite a bit of work after, cleaning off all the sand!
However, Matt did love to play in the sand when he was dry. He had fun just picking up handfuls of sand and then letting it go again. He didn't even attempt to eat it!
Overall it was a wondeful week! Mommy and Daddy got to quite bit of time alone, which was lovely, and we also had lots of family time with Autie Katie, Nanny, and Grampy! We can't wait to bring Matt to the beach again this summer when he'll be running around in the sand!

Matt has been pulling himself up for awhile, but now he's a real pro. His favorite spot to stand up is at his basket full of toys. He's still a bit wobbly and needs some spotting. And sometimes mommy is not quite quick enough, and he ends up with a fat lip! But he's getting better everyday and now he's even trying to do it with one hand. He'll be off and walking before we know it!
Matt had just has his lunch, not to mention a recent morning nap, when he decided to put his head on my shoulder and crash! We were at my favorite store, which of course is Target! I threw my coat down in the cart and figured as soon as I put him down in it, he'd wake right up. However, this was one tired little guy and he slept for another twenty minutes right there!
Matt has been taking music class through his Nana's Apple Tree Arts Music School for quite a while now. He started when he was just a wee three months old, so we've been singing with Miss Jan on Fridays for five months now! It's been so much fun to watch Matt, as well as our other two friends Hazel and Nicholas, grow over the past few months! When class started in September, they all seemed like little blobs and now Hazel and Nicholas are crawling and Matt's almost there! Before we know it, they'll all be singing on Broadway, or perhaps, one of them is the next American Idol!
Does Matt take after Daddy or what? He's got his good looks and his taste in beer!! And just so no one feels the need to call DSS, this was an unopened can!
Matt is taking swim lessons at the Framingham YMCA and he loves it! Some babies aren't too sure of the pool, others downright cry the whole time, but not this guy. He laughs and smiles the whole time, even at the funny looking instructor, who's a sixty year old man in a speedo! We go with Matt's girlfriend Amelia and her mommy Corrie. Mommies have to wear swim caps too, though our hair doesn't even come close to the water, and I can guarantee that you'll never see a picture of that!
