We survived camping!

Matt's first camping trip was a success! We were a bit cold, we were a bit dirty, and we were a bit tired, but all in all, we had a great time! We met our family from Liverpool, NY about halfway and camped at Adriondack Adventure Resorts. The campground was great for kids with a nice playground, a sandy beach to play on, and a really fun kiddie pool! We also spent some time in downtown Saratoga and checked out Moreau Lake State Park. And of course, we played lots of games while doing lots of eating and drinking! Here are a few pictures from our weekend.

Here is the tent from Matt's first camping trip. He only spent one night in it because of the weather, and then he moved over to his Nanny and Grampy's wonderful (heated) camper! We did a little musical beds the whole weekend to try to get everyone (people, babies, and dogs) comfortable. Unfortunately, Matt didn't sleep great wherever he was and was quite happy to be home in his bed last night (as were mom and dad)! Matt had a wonderful time just exploring the campground. He walked and walked and walked some more. And he loved watching his big cousins Abby, Brad, Kendal, and Gracie. They were almost like babysitters since they kept him so entertained!

Matt also loved checking out the lake and watching all the big kids catch tiny fish in their nets. He was also quite interested in the birds flying overhead.

And even more fun than that was the kiddie pool, which had all sorts of neat ways of squirting water around!

He also enjoyed touring the campground in his little red wagon! He even took a few rides with his cousins!

However, Matt's favorite part of the weekend by a landslide was watching his cousin David spit the ladder golf balls out (over and over again)! It was actually quite entertaining for the rest of us too!

So overall we had a very fun weekend and loved spending time with family! We were also very glad to be home last night and might not camp again for awhile!!!!!!!! ;-)

We love the spring!

Matt has been enjoying the wonderful weather and we've been outside everyday! He loves playing in his backyard, walking to the park, or just walking around outside between stores while mommy shops!

He has all sorts of fun toys in his backyard; a sand box, lots of big trucks, and a few ride on toys. However, he much prefers to play with the brooms and the rakes anything at all in the garage that is dangerous. He also has a little red wagon that he loves to ride around in and even shared a ride in with his friend Lizzy on Saturday night. It's a great place for him to sit and chill out while mommy goes around the yard watering all the flowers!

And as you can imagine, he's quite a dirty boy by the end of the day! He gets a bath in the bathtub every other night, but on non bath nights when he's very dirty, we just plop him in the sink for a quick wash. He actually quite enjoys it!

To all you mothers!

Happy Mother's Day (a day late) to all you mothers out there! I hope you all had a relaxing day spent whichever way you chose! This was my first Mother's Day and it was wonderful! I got to celebrate it a day early by staying in bed all day Saturday. And I litterally mean all day...I did not get up and shower until 4pm! It was fabulous! Not to mention that during that time, Dave was mulching the whole backyard!

Matt went out to breakfast with his Nana on Saturday and his Nanny on Sunday! What a lucky boy to have two such wonderful grandmothers! My Mother's Day is actually everyday, since I am able to be with by beautiful baby boy each and every single day!

This is just a cute picture of Matt at a friend's wedding a couple weeks ago. Maybe someday when he's a famous golfer we'll be able to sell this picture to People magazine. Though, based his parents' golfing skills...

Lolipop Lolipop Oh Loli Lolipop

Every Friday we have music class in Grafton. And every Friday, the biggest challenge of the day is keeping Matt awake on the ride home. I have all sorts of tricks lined up for the drive, staring with toys, then moving on to more fun stuff like straws, cups, and spoons, and then, in case of emergency, a cell phone! Most days, he'll make it a good way home before crashing and if he's only alseep for 10 minutes or so, I can usually transfer him into his crib. A few weeks back, Nanny was able to come with us to class, so I was able to sit in the back seat with Matt on the way home and break out the lolipop trick! And oh boy, did he love that! He wasn't too keen on how sticky his fingers got, but as long as we kept wiping them, he was a happy boy!

Haircut(s)

Matt's hair was getting a bit long behind his ears, so I started talking about getting him a haircut. His nanny convinced me we could just trim it up ourselves and it would be a piece of cake! It was a bit trickier than expected since he's not great at staying still... ...and I freaked out after just one snip and made her stop! How silly am I?!?!?

So then, a week or so later, I took him to my hairdesser Molly! He got a nice little trim, just around the ears, and it looked fabulous! He's ready for another little trim so when I get my haircut next Tuesday, I think he'll just have to come with me and go first!

Here's a picture of the big boy his first time in the chair. He was so good and didn't even realize what was going on, because he was too enthralled with a toy phone he discovered in the salon! And of course, all the women swooned over him!

Walking

We finally got some good footage of Matt walking. He's actually a little bit less wobbly than this, probably because he was on grass here.

By the way, as I'm writing this, he walked over to his Daddy, who was in the process of getting dressed for work, and pulled down his pants!! :-)

New Do

Matthew celebrated his ten month birthday on Monday by walking all over the place! Now, instead of just walking when promted, he's getting up and walking wherever he wants to go, all by himself. We keep trying to get a good video of it, but have yet to do so. We will soon!

Last week, mom and dad had a little fun during bath time and gave Matty a new hair do. I think the faux hawk thing works for him!
